Midnight Detention just got a big new update, and it’s all about shaking up how you explore the school! Update 1.8: Portals & Polish brings strange new supernatural twists, visual improvements, and a few surprises for sharp-eyed players.

Step Into the Unknown: Teleportation Portals

The halls are no longer limited to the stairs! With the arrival of the mysterious janitor teleportation portals, you can travel up and down! These rifts instantly teleport you across the map, opening up brand new strategies for both escaping danger and taking risks!

A School That Looks More Alive (and Dead)

Alongside the portals, we’ve taken time to give several key areas of the school a serious visual overhaul:

• Gym: Improved lighting, textures, and atmosphere make this space far more immersive (and unsettling).
• Music Class: Redesigned with new textures and a refreshed layout to better match the school’s era.
• Backyard: Enhanced detail and ambience make the outside world both more inviting and more ominous.

These parts of the school have always felt a bit empty, so we hope these changes make it feel more alive (and dead at the same time!).

A Small but Special Tribute

Hidden in the boarded-up technician room, you may find a new picture: Paşa the Cat. This Easter egg is a heartfelt nod to a beloved family pet from someone on the Zyap Media team. It’s a tiny detail, but one we hope will make players smile amidst all the horror and gruesomeness.

Under the Hood Improvements

For those on newer devices, we’ve also added support for 16KB memory page sizes, boosting compatibility and stability across more systems.

Midnight Detention: Portals & Polish is available right now on Google Play, with PC releases following soon.
